RC Lens continues to charge, without asking any questions, at the top of the women’s D2 rankings. Leaders, Sarah M’Barek’s players maneuvered their boat well on Sunday in the Loiret, to the chants of their supporters, notably those from the Lens Center section.
The three artesian goals are worth the detour. On the first, after an 8-pass sequence, with seven different players touching the ball, Alizée Méreau finished the job with a well-aimed volley (6th). Launched, the Lensoises did it again just before the break. Lively, technically accurate and easily finding gaps between the Orléans lines, they allowed Aude Gbedjissi to attack the opposing surface full axis before sending a masterful strike, from twenty meters, into the opposite corner (0-2, 44th). The first two scorers of the match completed the picture with a nice job from Gbedjissi, fixing the defense and delivering a caviar for Méreau (0-3, 63rd).
The two late opposing goals did not prevent Racing from pocketing their sixth victory in a row. They will now host Olympique de Marseille on December 8. A match which could allow the RCL to cause a first real break in the standings with the Phocaeans, currently fourth, four points behind.
