Kevin Denkey (23) continues his career at FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer. Cercle Bruges have reached an agreement with the American club for the transfer of the Togolese striker, making it the most expensive incoming transfer in MLS history.
With a transfer amount of 16.6 million euros, including 15.3 million in fixed payment, Cercle Bruges’ transfer record is also broken. Additionally, the club will receive 10% of a future resale.
While the official finalization of the transfer should take place tomorrow, Denkey will remain temporarily available for Cercle. The striker will further strengthen his current team in the league. In fact, the MLS will not resume until January.
Denkey has already impressed immensely this season and last with his goal-scoring ability, which explains Cincinnati’s interest. The American club sees him as a key reinforcement to take the team to a higher level in an increasingly competitive MLS.
