Patrik Laine skated with his teammates in practice

David Savard did not participate in last night’s match.

Jayden Struble took his place in Martin St-Louis’ lineup since the Quebec defender is injured in his upper body.

Without too much surprise, we learn that he will not be present at today’s training in Brossard.

But Savard is not the only one absent.

Brendan Gallagher also benefits from a day of treatment.

The Canadian made the announcement on X:

Should we be concerned in the case of Brendan Gallagher?

Not necessarily, no.

The veteran has a stronger body than the others and he has participated in all of the Canadian’s matches since the start of the campaign. Seeing the club give him a “day off” is not a bad thing in my eyes… Especially in the context where Gally is performing really well so far this season.

It’s deserved.

For Savard, we still have to wait to see how serious his injury is.

If he didn’t participate in yesterday’s match, it’s because he was probably (very sore). Because we know that Savard is not afraid to play with a bobo to help his club.

It would have been illogical to send him onto the ice this morning…

Note also that there was good news at today’s training: Patrik Laine was on the ice with the rest of his teammates.

He didn’t stay on the ice for long, but seeing him with the group is already a good sign:

We don’t know when Laine will return to the game, but clearly he is progressing.

Note that Rafaël Harvey-Pinard is also approaching a return, he who started training last week with a sweater allowing him to receive contacts.

Reinforcement coming soon for Martin St-Louis!

Prolongation

When Laine and RHP are able to return to training, Martin St-Louis will have decisions to make.

Obviously, Lucas Condotta should be sent back to the American League to make room for one of these guys… But it could get more complicated later.

Unless the CH decides to send Harvey-Pinard to for a few matches so that he can get back into shape? This scenario is possible, too.
