Charley Hull shot a 66 to take a two-shot lead at The ANNIKA Driven tournament on Friday in Florida.
Hull, who triumphed in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago to end a two-year title drought, took the lead with five birdies, including three in the space of five holes on the back nine, at Pelican Golf Club.
Canadian Alena Sharp is in the mix at -4 after also playing 66. Savannah Gerwal narrowly passed the cut at +1.
Hull currently has Nelly Korda as their main rival in second place. The latter is playing for the first time in almost two months after suffering a minor neck injury. She started the day with a bogey and ended it with two birdies in a row to get a score of 68.
Four players follow at -7, namely Wichanee Meechai, Mi Hyang Lee, Im Jin Hee and Alexa Pano.
After the tournament, Hull planned a trip to Europe. She made a bet with her lover that she could add a day of vacation for each round in which she made at least five birdies. Since she made seven yesterday, she is even more delighted with the result.
