Brian Riemer is delighted to be Denmark’s new coach. Even if he would have seen himself staying longer at Anderlecht.
Anderlecht has already changed a lot since the departure of Brian Riemer. Jesper Fredberg, who brought him to Brussels and defended him, also left. Despite this, Riemer does not look too resentfully at the club.
“Yes, I had the feeling that there was still something to achieve at Anderlecht, but I also don’t want to forget this club. There are still many people who are dear to me and Anderlecht has been part of my growth process, in good days and bad. There are only good vibes,” he explains to Nieuwsblad.
“I really hope that Anderlecht will enjoy success soon. It is not for me to judge their choices now. What I do know is that I have received a lot of messages from Brussels for my new position. Fredberg, yes. The new Danish coach was therefore very attentive to the summit match against Club Brugge. A topper where Anderlecht…did not exist. What “reassure” him? “I now look with different glasses,” he puts things into perspective. “It’s no longer Anderlecht football that interests me, but the Danish players.”
That day, it was a Bruges player who caught his eye: “I believe in Andreas Skov Olsen. If you look at his size, his technique, his one-on-one actions, he has everything that “I hope I can give him an extra boost, because he can play even higher football than Club Brugge.”
