For Bordeaux Le Mag, the journalist Laurent Brun spoke about the eye with which he looks at the Girondins de Bordeaux. That of a team in National 2? That of a team which has the past of FCGB? Or the third eye?
“I have two eyes. There is one who looks in a certain way, and the other in another, with a third eye which looks with great affection and in a very tender way (smile). These players make me happy. I like what they convey, I like what they are there for. You can see with one eye that they are in National 2, and suddenly you have 10,000 people screaming… But in fact, there is still something of history. This calls for an incredible level of demand which is clearly higher than what we have the right to expect in National 2… The look and the feeling change a little. It's very surprising because we always knew the Girondins as professionals, and we didn't necessarily have another eye than that of the result, especially when we went through the 80s and 90s… Today, we all have to remember that we are only amateurs, but Bordeaux is not the same… That must have been the case for Strasbourg at the time too, and it would also be the case for Nantes, Monaco, Paris, big clubs French… It’s weird, yes.”
