Former Monegasque Radamel Falcao scored the 347th goal of his career on Thursday, becoming the top Colombian scorer in history. At 38, he currently plays for Millonarios in Bogota.
A cross shot from outside the area, a post coming in and Radamel Falcao has entered the history of football a little further. The 38-year-old striker scored his 347th career goal to become Colombia’s all-time top scorer in the championship match between his team Millonarios and Boyaca Chico.
“Yes, yes, yes, yes! The “Tiger” is the greatest scorer in history!”, greeted Dimayor, the governing body of Colombian football, on X. With this goal, Falcao overtook Victor Hugo Aristizabal, a former international who played for Atlético Nacional, Valencia, Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro.
A first experience in the Colombian championship
Falcao has scored 36 goals for the national team – of which he is also the top scorer – and 311 for club, including 83 in four seasons at AS Monaco between 2013 and 2019, his club record. He also scored 72 with FC Porto and 70 with Atlético Madrid.
After a long stay in Europe and a final experience at Rayo Vallecano, from 2021 to 2024, the Colombian joined this year the Millonarios, a Bogota club of which he is a big fan and where he had played among the youth. He who had never played in his national championship, making his professional debut in Argentina under the colors of River Plate, twenty years ago, finally wrote history in front of his audience.
He also did it the day before Colombia’s match against Uruguay, during qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. A selection for which he has not played since March 2023, not being part of the plans of the Argentinian coach Nestor Lorenzo.
