Collecting 100 rugby club pennants is the challenge for five and a half year old Rubén. For the 100 days of school in CP, which will be celebrated in April, the teachers of a school in Chazelles (Charente) asked their students to put together a collection of 100 objects and then present them to their classmates: “My son is a rugby fan so it was obvious for him to turn to objects related to this sport”confides Franck, his father. “He wanted to go with jerseys, but we told him it was going to be complicated so we started with a collection of club pennants, but as it was a bit out of fashion, we decided to go for it. put early”.
At the beginning of November, Rubén wrote a little note by hand: “Hello, my name is Rubén, I am at CP. For the 100 days celebration, I would like to collect 100 rugby club pennants. I like rugby, SA XV and Thomas Ramos at Stade Toulousain. Thank you very much “. Franck takes a photo of his letter and publishes it on the Facebook group You come from Toulouse if : “It took on a considerable scale, the word was shared more than 10,000 times, on many other pages, we didn’t expect it”.
Thanks to this success, the young boy receives pennants almost every day from the four corners of France, including that of the Soyaux Angoulême club, and even from abroad: “Many French, Belgian, Swiss and English amateur rugby clubs send us their pennants, but also flags, jerseys and scarves. The La Rochefoucauld club even made a pennant because they did not have one “With all these gifts, which were not expected, Rubén is in heaven.”. Today, his collection exceeds 80 rugby pennants, so the project will be more than successful.
However, his favorite player, Thomas Ramos from Stade Toulousain, has not yet reacted: “We don’t despair, some people told us that they had contact with the player’s entourage”explains Franck. “There are also some companions of professional players who contact us to tell us that they are spreading the message”.
The objective of this collection is above all to “share a friendly moment within the class, present your objects to your classmates for discussion”. “Even at home, it’s great, we get involved a lot”. Three years ago, the eldest son made a collection of riding floats.
