Racing 92 announced the injury of its fly-half Owen Farrell. Victim of pubalgia, he underwent surgery and will miss several weeks of competition.
It is in a few laconic words, this Thursday evening, that Racing 92 revealed the bad news. Its star opener Owen Farrell suffers from pubalgia. So he had to have surgery. Without going into details, the Ile-de-France club announced that its English player would be absent “several weeks”. The press release ends with these words: “The entire medical and sports staff will support him throughout his recovery to ensure optimal recovery.”
Owen Farrell will therefore be absent, at least, for the derby against Stade Français on November 24, for the 10th day of Top 14. Until then, the defector from Saracens had only missed one championship match this season, it was in Bayonne, during the seventh day. But he came out injuredduring his team’s last match, on the Hameau lawn. That day, he had been successfully replaced by Antoine Gibert. Stuart Lancaster must hope that the fly-half maintains his good form for the upcoming games!
