We were talking to you about it this morning: the Belgian federation sent a delegation, led by CEO Peter Willems, to Madrid, to discuss with Thibaut Courtois.
The situation seems blocked: Courtois has already said that he misses the Red Devils, but that he will not return as long as Domenico Tedesco is the coach. One of the great challenges for the federation is to resolve this seemingly insoluble case.
The coach said during his press conference that he was aware of the meeting between Peter Willems and Thibaut Courtois : “Yes, he informed me about it a few weeks ago.”
A file that remains as sensitive as ever
“He also asked me what I thought about it. As CEO, he has every right to do so,” Tedesco continued.
The coach did not seek to add fuel to the fire, affirming that he was, for his part, not closed to a return of Thibaut Courtois, placing the blame on the Madrid goalkeeper: “I was and I’m still completely open to that. Everything has already been said about it. I think what Courtois said is clear.”
