After having had a sensational October in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with 11 points in 12 games, Montreal Canadian prospect Ivan Demidov is experiencing a first real slump this season.

The 18-year-old forward has been held off the scoresheet in his last four games, even though his playing time has not been drastically reduced by his coach, with the exception of one game. He also had a differential of -2 during these four games.
It’s the second longest drought of the season for Demidov, after he was unable to collect a point in five straight games at the start of October. However, his playing time was reduced between three and seven minutes during this bad sequence.
On Monday, he spent 13 minutes 55 seconds on the ice and directed four shots toward the opposing net in a 2-1 loss for SKA St. Petersburg to Avangard Omsk.
However, it is not only Demidov who has been experiencing problems in recent games, while SKA is trailing a five-game losing streak in the KHL. During this lethargy, the team led by controversial coach Roman Rotenberg lost against Red Star Kunlun and HC Sochi, two of the worst teams on the circuit.
The team’s offense is also running out of steam, despite all the impact players on its roster. She has only scored eight goals in these five consecutive losses.
SKA will play its next match against Sibir Novosibirsk, against whom it obtained its last victory last month.
