Jannik Sinner did not experience any major difficulties entering the ATP Finals in Turin. The world No. 1 dominated Alex De Minaur (ATP 8) 6-3 6-4 in the 2nd match of the Ilie Nastase group.
The Italian needed 1h25′ to pick up his eighth success in as many duels against the Australian. He will face Taylor Fritz (6) on Tuesday, who hopes to take revenge for his defeat suffered in the final of the last US Open. The winner of this match will likely have their ticket to the semi-finals.
Jannik Sinner, however, did not start his clash with Alex De Minaur in an ideal way, conceding the first break to find himself trailing 1-2. But his reaction was immediate as he won the next four games. And he ultimately only lost 10 points on his service games.
Beaten by Novak Djokovic (forfeit this year) in the final of the 2023 edition, Jannik Sinner (23 years old) is aiming for his first title in the Masters. He approaches it in the shoes of the big favorite, and with the unwavering support of an Italian public who gave him a huge ovation when he entered the court.
