: Céline Naef and Susan Bandecchi titled on the ITF circuit

It’s rare enough to be underlined: Swiss won two titles in the same day, this Sunday. Céline Naef (19 years old) and Susan Bandecchi (26 years old) both won an ITF tournament stamped W75, the second highest category of competition within the antechamber of the WTA circuit.

The young Schwyzoise won in Pétange, Luxembourg, after dominating Frenchwoman Océane Dodin (110th player in the world and No. 1 seed in the tournament) in the final, 6-2, 6-4. Naef concludes her impeccable career in style: in five matches, she has not conceded a single set. In the previous rounds, she successively eliminated the Spaniard Andrea Lázaro Garcia (241st) 6-2, 6-2, the Australian Daria Saville (118th) 6-3, 6-3, the Italian Camilla Rosatello (355th) 6-3, 6-1, and the Dutch Lian Tran (483rd) 6-2, 6-1.

The Ticino woman triumphed in Ismaning (Germany). She made her way to the final by dismissing the Polish Gina Feistel (307th), the Russian Julia Avdeeva (234th), the German Carolina Kuhl (418th) and the Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic (248th) before gaining the upper hand on the Ukrainian Daria Snigur (158th) in the battle of the chefs, 6-7 (8/10), 6-2, 7-5.

Céline Naef and Susan Bandecchi will make a jump in the world rankings, where they occupy the current 209th and 276th places respectively. The first will climb to 173rd place during the next score, a gain of 36 positions, while the second will appear at 218th (+58th).
