Pro D2: two players placed in police custody, one for “sexual assault”, the other for “violence committed under the influence of alcohol”

This is a new affair which has been added to the long list of news items which have affected rugby in recent months. This Thursday, November 7, two rugby players from US were taken into police custody, according to information from Sud Ouest. These would be “two separate investigations”: one for “sexual assault”, the other for “violence committed under the influence of alcohol”. The media specifies “that at least one complaint has been filed”.

The alleged facts date back to Saturday November 1st. To celebrate Dacquoise's victory against , Jope Naseara and Ratu Nacika, writes Rugbyrama, would have gone on a trip to the city's bars, “probably drunk”. They allegedly engaged in “inappropriate” behavior.

This Thursday morning, the two rugby players were questioned by the city police station. Contacted by our colleagues, Benjamin Gufflet, the president of the USD, declared: “The club has already initiated a disciplinary procedure whose outcome will depend in particular on the seriousness of the facts established and the capacity for change of its employees.”
