This weekend, Montauban should confirm its status as leader, Oyonnax pass a milestone and Nevers could find itself in difficulty against VRDR before securing the essentials… Here are our predictions for the 10th day of Pro D2!
Mont-de-Marsan – Biarritz
The Stade Monois always alternates hot and cold at the start of the season, which places the Landes club in 13th place in the championship… But after two consecutive defeats, it is difficult to imagine the Montois falling once again at home. In any case, it is far from being won against an Olympic Biarritz in better shape than ever in recent weeks. A match which remains undecided given everyone’s current form but which could swing in favor of Mont-de-Marsan who must react. Boris Bouhraoua’s men seem capable of not leaving with nothing by offering themselves a defensive bonus point.
Our prediction: victory for Mont-de-Marsan, defensive bonus for Biarritz
Oyonnax – Grenoble
Let’s be honest, Oyonnax’s start to the season is disappointing. While we expected the Aindinois club at the top of the ranking to move up to the Top 14 as quickly as possible, the start is difficult. For now, the Oyomen are limiting the damage by insuring at home. Against Grenoble, we will have to do the same at the risk of sinking to the bottom of the ranking… A victory therefore seemed obligatory and could represent a real turning point for the rest of the season.
Our prediction: victory for Oyonnax
Béziers – Dax
The Biterrois are in a very difficult period both on a sporting and extra-sporting level. To talk only about the field, ASBH put an end to a series of four defeats, against Soyaux-Angoulême. And this double reception, with the arrival of Dax this weekend, is undoubtedly timely. To get back on the right path, we will have to stand up to Jeff Dubois’ men. Pushed by its loyal supporters, Béziers could therefore find some color at the end of this 10th day of Pro D2.
Our prediction: victory for Béziers
Provence Rugby – Aurillac
Little by little the bird is making its nest and Provence Rugby is making us forget the difficulties of the first block. This is what will have to be confirmed in any case against Aurillac this weekend. Because to leave with certainty on the side of Biarritz, we will have to deliver a successful performance against the Cantaliens who still seem feverish far from the bases. So, in front of their audience, Mauricio Reggiardo’s men have everything they need to put on a show and a bonus, which could do the rankings a lot of good.
Our prediction: improved victory for Provence Rugby
Soyaux-Angoulême – Agen
The start of the SAXV season was surprising with away victories and home defeats, which is still unusual. But the counter was unlocked against Biarritz and the Angoumoisins seem to have all the arguments to take place in their den. Starting with this meeting against Agen which should allow them to stay in the top 6.
Our prediction: victory for Soyaux-Angoulême
Montauban – Nice
The most unbalanced meeting of this tenth day of Pro D2 on paper. Indeed, the Montalban leader welcomes the promoted Nice, penultimate in the division before his trip to Sapiac. A stadium in which Sébastien Tillous-Borde’s men have still not experienced defeat since the launch of the 2024/2025 financial year, even improving on one occasion. All the elements therefore seem to come together for the USM to retain its place on the throne of leader. Even if Stade Nice has proven its ability to travel in the past, having scored more points away from home than in front of their home crowd.
Our prediction: improved victory for Montauban
Nevers – Valence-Romans
A fear match, a real one. Nevers is the surprising red lantern after nine days, one point behind this week’s opponent VRDR. At Pré Fleuri, it is therefore a crucial match which is being contested, because a defeat could really plunge Xavier Péméja’s men into turmoil and considerably distance them from their initial objective: the top 6. Already defeated twice at home this season, the Nivernais no longer have the right to make mistakes. However, beware of this Drôme team, which remains on two consecutive successes, and not the least. If the big victory against Brive is remembered, we must not forget that Valence Romans won his first match of fear, on the pitch of Nice.
Our prediction: victory for Nevers, defensive bonus for Valence Romans
Brive – Colomiers
Brive must redeem itself. Traveling in the Drôme last week, the Brivistes experienced a little humiliation, conceding no less than 42 points against a VRDR who were still in the red before their arrival. In front of his Amédée Domenech crowd, the Corréziens must accumulate points to stay stuck at the front. But the Colombe Columérine, tied on points at the end of the ninth day, will come to Corrèze with the firm intention of grabbing points in the ranking. And with already two victories away from their bases since the start of the season, Joaquin De La Vega’s partners know the miracle recipe.
Our prediction: improved victory for Brive
