Veteran Tyler Johnson is joining the Boston Bruins for the remainder of the season. He will pocket $775,000 after signing a one-way deal on Monday.
Johnson had participated in the Bruins’ training camp, but did not sign an agreement with the team.
The 34-year-old veteran has 738 games of experience in the NHL, in addition to having won the Stanley Cup twice with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He spent the last three campaigns in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform.
In his career, Johnson collected 431 points, including 193 goals.
Minor transaction between Oilers and Flyers
The Edmonton Oilers announced in the evening the acquisition of defenseman Ronnie Attard from the Philadelphia Flyers.
For his part, Ben Gleason, also a full-back, will go the opposite way.
Attard, who is 25 years old, was a third-round pick of the Flyers in 2016. He has played 29 games in the NHL, including 15 during the 2021-2022 season.
This season, with Lehigh Valley in the AHL, he had not recorded a point in seven games. Last year, with the same club, he totaled 27 points (10-17) in 48 games.
Gleason, 26, had four points (1-3) in seven games with the Bakersfield Condors so far.
He has four games of experience in the Bettman circuit; it was in 2018-2019, with the Dallas Stars.
