Between BeIN Sports, the Professional League (LFP) and the supporters of the 18 clubs Ligue 2the conflict drags on at the start of the 2024-2025 season. In question? The programming, during the week, of a very large part of the championship matches, in particular on Friday evening. For the moment, only one multiplex match has been postponed to Saturday afternoon.

A fine for Stade Malherbe

And the hatchet is not likely to be buried any time soon. The Stade Malherbe de Caen has, in fact, just been inflicted by the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League, a firm fine of €3,000. During the visit of AC (1-0), on September 20, one of the stands of the Ornano stadium launched, on several occasions, songs judged “rude and offensive” towards the institution, its president, Vincent Labrune, and the championship broadcaster.

“Such comments, reiterated on several occasions, contribute to creating a hostile climate towards him and therefore seriously harm the image of professional football,” specifies the commission report drawn up based on the match sheet of the game. .

They are also part of a worrying global context where players in professional football are regularly stigmatized and insulted in an insistent and repeated manner within sports arenas.

The documents were revealed by Pierre Bathélémy, the lawyer for the National Supporters Association, on his X account (formerly Twitter). The measure also targets the stadiums of Clermont Foot, FC , RC , Olympique Lyonnais, AC and FC.

The Professional Football League also invites the weed club “to continue implementing concrete actions aimed at putting an end to such chants in its stadium, among its supporters and reminds it that it can contact the services of the LPF if necessary.”
