A new Brazilian wonderkid. Already nicknamed “Messinho” for his technical similarities with the Argentinian, Estevão Willian confirms all the good things observers thought of him. The Brazilian has just beaten Neymar’s record held until now: that of the number of goals and assists for an U17 player in the Brazilian championship.

In total, Estevao Willian scored 10 goals and 8 assists in 24 matches, to which he added one penalty won. He is even involved in a goal every 84 minutes. During his first season, at the same age, Neymar scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 matches.

A transfer already recorded at Chelsea

Especially since the season is not yet over in Brazil and young Estevao could further improve his statistics and help Palmeiras, second, to pass Botafogo, leader with one more point. For the moment, he is even the most decisive player in the local championship, ahead of players like Pedro, Hulk or Lucas Moura. A good omen before joining Chelsea, which has already secured the services of the young Brazilian when he turned 18, next April, in exchange for a check for 34 million euros and an additional 23 million in bonuses.

He was courted by many European big names, including Barça, PSG, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United. “Messinho” is considered in Brazil as the future big star of the Auriverde selection and this breathtaking season for a player of his age should only reinforce this status.
