Will Standard do the same for Bodart? Antwerp sets the date for Jean Butez’s return between the poles – All football

Jean Butez was aiming to leave Antwerp this summer. He must now be patient on the bench.

Like Arnaud Bodart at Standard, Jean Butez already had his head abroad during the last transfer window. This benefited Senne Lammens who, after having already replaced him for the Playoffs, took his place between the poles and the keep since the start of the season.

Butez has not played a single minute since the restart. At a press conference, Jonas De Roeck was very clear about him: “If nothing happens in terms of injuries, he will be in goal in the cup matches, starting against Deinze at the end of the month” he declared, in comments relayed by the Gazet van Antwerpen.

Jean Butez remains patient

“In the past I already used to give the second goalkeeper a chance to play for the cup because he usually deserves it. I have to be careful to maintain the strength and qualities of the team, but if he “There is a position where we have a lot of qualities, it is in goal” continues the Antwerp coach.

De Roeck explains that the French goalkeeper remains extremely important for the club: “He is now in a position which is not easy, but he is handling it in an incredibly positive way. The performance of Senne Lammens and the team is also due to Jean’s efforts in training.

His trainer confirms it, Jean Butez is still one of the leaders of the Antwerp locker room: “That hasn’t changed and that says a lot about him.”
