Brendan Gallagher gave quite a speech

The Montreal Canadiens players are certainly aware that things have been going rather squarely since the start of the season. Yes, Lane Hutson’s flashes are breathtaking. Yes, Cole Caufield’s stuff is overly encouraging. Yes, the outfit of the trio driven by Jake Evans is flawless. But the team is seriously lacking in depth… and the players are totally aware of it.

But what’s really wrong with blue-white-red? The defensive structure and some details! It’s that simple. Martin St-Louis spoke on this subject and coach will have to find a way that his dialogue does not go unnoticed. St-Louis expected a higher floor before the opening of the campaign and this one has every reason in the world not to be satisfied with the state of the current floor.

Brendan Gallagher, who is having a good start to the season, delivered a speech worthy of a great leader about the general performance of this Sainte-Flanelle.

Here are the sayings of Gallyas reported by RDS:

“We’re talking about getting to a certain level, fighting for a playoff spot. The time has come to get on the ice and demonstrate that we can do it. If you say these things, you have to go on the ice and demonstrate it. We just played two home games against good teams, yes, but we were in positions where we could win those games even though we weren’t at our best and we didn’t do that. We have to understand that there are small details that will help us win. But if we played like we are capable of playing, it would make it a little easier.”

How else to say? Little number 11 is absolutely right. We hear players talking about things in front of the media, but they don’t take action on the ice. At some point, the group will have to move from words to action in order not to lose credibility.

But… there are only five matches left, after all! Let’s trust the process!
