Thibaud Lanen: a highly appreciated profile

The versatility and solidity of Thibaud Lanen in the winning phases make him a profile highly appreciated by the Bordeaux staff, eager to add depth to a key position.

Trained in Clermont, Lanen, JIFF (under Petti’s contract) gradually gained playing time and established himself as an important element of the Auvergne squad. However, UBB’s ambitions could encourage the player to take on a new challenge in the French championship.

The Bordeaux club is seeking to strengthen its pack to establish itself as a lasting contender for the Top 14 title, and the recruitment of Lanen is part of this desire to build a team capable of competing with the best teams.

Let us point out that Lanen is not the only Clermontois in Bordeaux’s sights: the 3e line Alexandre Fischer, at the end of his contract and friend of Damian Penaud, would also be in the viewfinder.

A disagreement with the staff?

For the moment, no official offer has yet been made, but discussions have already started. The player, aware of Bordeaux’s interest, would be seduced by an ambitious project in one of the strongholds of French rugby. His possible departure to Bordeaux would mark an important turning point in his career and could prove beneficial for both parties.
