The scapular club is now waiting to know the identity of its opponent in the next round. However, the Gironde prefecture has confirmed that if the Girondins de Bordeaux do not play at MATMUT Atlantique, all their matches, whether at home or away, will not be able to accommodate an audience. An inevitably difficult situation as the club has just started one of the most difficult periods in its history.
A coach does not want to pull Bordeaux
Philippe Ollier, coach of US Liège Cap-Ferret, resident of National 3 and also present at the stage of the 6th round of the Coupe de France, affirmed that he did not want to fall against Bordeaux due to the absence of an audience : “If we can avoid the Girondins, not because they are the Girondins de Bordeaux but because there is zero audience at their match, we will try to avoid them… Today, is there a real pleasure to get the Girondins back, personally no… If it’s to play a match with no one around the field, no interest. I leave them any opponent, except us”he notes on TV7. Despite the prestige of the club, it is difficult for the Girondins de Bordeaux to get used to their new life.
