Lens should recover Danso against ASSE

A major comeback is expected for the Racing Club de Lens, for this Saturday’s trip to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium as part of the eighth day of the French Ligue 1 Championship.

As mentioned previously on Evect, Kevin Danso should make his comeback to competition and rejoin the blood and gold group on the occasion of this poster. The Austrian defender was due to leave the North of France this summer to join Italy and AS Roma as part of a €1M paying loan accompanied by an obligation to purchase €22M excluding bonuses. But during the traditional medical examination, which took place on August 29, a heart problem was detected as part of the protocol of the Italian health authorities. A problem previously never detected by the Racing Club de Lens or the Austrian Football Federation.

The player then carried out numerous examinations with different cardiologists, while resuming training with Lens in an adapted manner from September 13. On October 4, the player published on his social networks a medical press release from doctors Sanjay Sharma and Magdi Saba from the Cleveland Clinic in London: “A thorough and comprehensive study of Kevin’s heart did not detect any damage to the heart muscle or nerve abnormalities that could lead to or contribute to the development of dangerous arrhythmias. Based on the available data, we consider that he is fit to play competitive football.”

The Austrian international could have made his return to Strasbourg just before the break, but the Artesian staff chose to give him the international break so that he could come back as sharp as possible. Nothing prevents his return at least within the Lensois group which will make the trip to Saint-Étienne. It remains to be seen whether Will Still will shake up a defense which is currently the best in France with that of AS Monaco to allow Danso to make his return to the field.
