“Remco dreams of winning all three grand tours. We must rely on our own strengths. We cannot constantly avoid Tadej Pogacar. He’s a human. He might have a bad day, or get sick. It happens even to the best“, he continues. “Remco is not a runner who adapts to the opposition. Nor does he need external motivation. It’s simply a winner“.
The Giro-Tour next year?
The question had already been raised a few weeks ago and this time, Patrick Lefevere provides some details. Because for the moment, Remco’s 2025 calendar is still a big unknown. But a Giro-Tour de France participation would please the head of Quick-Step: “It’s only October 15th, give us some time. Last year, his coach advised us against doing the double, but we’ll see if it’s different this year“.
Enough to shorten your classics calendar? “Remco has a big advantage which is also its disadvantage: it can win every race where it starts, except – perhaps – Paris-Roubaix.
