Benjamin Mendy against Manchester City. The defender stands up against the Citizens, who he accuses of a lack of support between the moment he was arrested for rape, of which he was later acquitted, and the end of his contract with his former club. Mendy claims not to have been paid over this period and claims 11.5 million pounds sterling (14 million euros) in unpaid wages according to the Telegraph.
To support his filing of a complaint, the 2018 world champion provided a written statement in which he testifies to the presence of several of his teammates at his alcoholic parties in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Like him, he said, these players had sexual relations with women.

We’ve all had casual relationships with women. […] That doesn’t excuse my behavior, but I think it’s unfair that Manchester City targeted me in the way they did. The difference between me and the other Manchester City players is that I was the one who was falsely accused of rape and publicly humiliated. »
Benjamin Mendy notably cites the captain of the time, namely Fernandinho, who had taken over from Kompany and David Silva in this role. The former Monegasque will know after two days of hearing whether or not the Mancunians will have to pay him the compensation he is demanding.
