CAN 2025-Morocco: after their qualification, the Indomitable Lions dream of a 6th star

It was with a score of one goal to zero that the indomitable lions of Cameroon separated from the Harambee Stars of Kenya, this October 14, 2025 at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium in South Africa. A match that was difficult enough for Marc Brys’ team, who defeated the same team in the first leg in Yaoundé by a score of four goals to one.

In the political capital as everywhere in the country, the joy of Cameroonians is immense because the Indomitable Lions control group J with a total of ten points. They are followed by Zimbabwe which has eight, Kenya, four and Namibia which brings up the rear with zero points.

It is therefore a Cameroonian team in good shape since the arrival of Belgian Marc Brys. As an illustration, in six outings, the new coach has four victories, two draws and zero defeats. In addition, his selection was more offensive than before with eleven goals scored and only three conceded. Unlike his predecessor, Rigobert Song who had not achieved this feat during the same period and under the same conditions.

For this performance by Marc Brys, it is especially necessary to note the crisis between the Cameroonian Federation and its supervisory authority, the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education over the appointment of the technical, administrative and medical staff of the Indomitable Lions.

A crisis which was not favorable to an effective organization of the national team. Happy outcome of this crisis thanks to the prompt intervention of the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister, head of government.

For several citizens met in Yaoundé, the return of the Indomitable Lions to the class of winners bodes well for a better future. Nobody doubts that Cameroon will win the Morocco CAN-2025.
