The former Monaco player was arrested in Cap d’Ail, drunk, after a complaint from a young woman in her twenties who accused him of sexual assault. The events took place on September 6 and the hearing took place this Tuesday, October 15.
Wissam Ben Yedder, 34 years old and 19 caps for the French team, appeared before the Nice court this Tuesday, October 15. The former Monaco striker is accused of sexual assault while drunk by a young woman. The prosecution requested one year in prison and 18 months of probation for the attacker.
The prosecutor denounced explanations “muds”. She adds that “Mr. Ben Yedder considered that (the victim) was a piece of meat and that he could help himself.”
“I don’t remember anything, I can’t say if I did it. It’s because of the alcohol that I’m here” the attacker said. He adds: “I sincerely ask for forgiveness from (the victim), from his family, from my family.” Me Marie Roumiantseva, her lawyer, considers, although the victim had certainly had a very bad evening, that the sexual assault was not considered and that it was not possible to convict “only because the complainant seems credible”.
The player would have joined Alcoholics Anonymous and would have undergone detoxification for two weeks at the Nice University Hospital according to the defense. He hopes to join an intensive fitness program, while he has received offers from “several European clubs” for January.

The events took place on the evening of September 6 when Ben Yedder sympathized with a group of young people in Cap d’Ail, on the outskirts of Monaco. The attacker had previously been drinking in his car in a parking lot below his home. The victim explains having agreed to go up “out of fear” in the player’s car who took him to the parking lot of his residence.
After pushing the baby seat of his two-year-old child, the attacker caresses the thigh of the young woman who pushes him away before masturbating and trying to kiss her. The victim managed to open the door and escape. Ben Yedder will be tested at home later with a blood alcohol level of 1.52 g/l of blood.
“I was a happy girl who made stupid jokes, and now I don’t trust anymore, I have nightmares, I don’t sleep anymore, I don’t work anymore…” the victim testified.
“Alcohol made me forget, it helped me stop thinking. I realize it was the worst mistake of my life”explains the player at the helm. Wissam Ben Yedder continues his cases in court after being convicted of tax fraud in Spain, indicted for rape and must be tried for psychological violence against his wife on December 27.
