Cœur Médoc, Cazaux and La Brède create a surprise

Faithful to a tradition, which gives all the flavor to this competition, the 5th round of the Coupe de reserved its share of surprises. The most resounding performances were signed by Stade Bordelais (N3) which won (1-0) against Genêts d’ (N2), but also by FC Cœur Médoc Atlantique (R2), La Brède FC (R2) and Cazaux Olympique (R3) who respectively sent FC Portes E2M (R1), SAG Cestas (R1) and FC (R2) back to their dear studies. The FCCA had the merit of catching up in the second half (1-1 goal from Quentin Viaud) before snatching qualification during the penalty shootout.

“It’s confirmation of what we’ve been doing since the start of the season and a big first for us who are playing with 80% of players trained in the inner circle. This validates the quality of serious work undertaken for several seasons,” comments Cédric Narbate, the Médoc president. The latter projects himself: “Our dream would be to reach the 7th round and fall against SC of Lilian Laslandes who remains our technical advisor! »

History for Cazaux

For the second time in a row, Cazaux Olympique went to score its ticket with a hierarchically superior opponent. After Hiriburuko, the Basin players qualified (1-0) against the Talençais. “We knew how to turn our backs and exploit the opportunity that presented itself,” summarizes president Philippe Gayon, whose son, Édouard, scored the only goal in the 89th minute. In the 6th round, we especially want to receive. Why not our neighbors in Lège-Cap-Ferret? »

Faced with the Cestadais dominating the game, La Brède FC showed a cold realism, fatal for Vincent Bourhis’s men. After scoring two goals in five minutes, the Brédois let their visitors come back to score (2-2) in the second half before punishing them on penalties. “We suffered, but thanks to our offensive efficiency and a lot of perseverance, we managed to qualify,” rejoiced Romain Laborie, LBFC coach.

Please note that the draw for the 6th round will take place this Thursday, October 17 and will be followed live on TV7 in the “7 p.m. Sports” program.
