MAMADOU NDOYE, VOICE OF CRITICAL WISDOM

In an interview with Abdoulaye Cissé of TFM, Mamadou Ndoye, a respected figure in civil society and former Minister of Education, paints a nuanced picture of the political and educational situation in the country.

According to him, educational policies suffer from a glaring lack of endogeneity, suggesting that they are too often modeled on external models. The former minister also expresses his concern about the process of rebuilding institutions, a key promise from President Bassirou Diomaye Faye which has still not been undertaken by the new administration. This status quo could, according to him, compromise the hopes of profound change nourished by many Senegalese in light of the latest alternation.

However, Mamadou Ndoye sees the possibility of a presidential surge after the legislative elections of November 1, suggesting that this election could serve as a catalyst to relaunch the long-awaited reforms.

As Senegal prepares for these crucial legislative elections, Mamadou Ndoye’s observations serve as a reminder of the importance of constant vigilance on the part of civil society to ensure that promises of change are translated into concrete actions.
