Pre-match: GSHC vs KAC – Genève-Servette Hockey Club

Genève-Servette plays its fifth match of the regular season this Wednesday at the Littoral ice rink in Neuchâtel. The Eagles face the Austrians Klagenfurt AC and a victory would allow them to have a foot in the round of 16 of the competition.

The CHL is in full swing this week with the 5th day of competition in sight. This Wednesday, the Eagles “host” Klagenfurt at the Littoral ice rink, in Neuchâtel. Jan Cadieux’s men would take a big step towards the round of 16 if they win. With 6 points in four games, the Garnet are 14th in the CHL standings. As a reminder, only the first sixteen teams are qualified for the final stages. There are two games left for GSHC to validate their ticket to defend their title: Klagenfurt this Wednesday and Fehévár Tuesday next week.

The Austrians are in difficulty in this competition with only one victory for three defeats. They must win their last two matches in order to continue their European journey. They will therefore be motivated and the Eagles will have to come out strong on the ice or risk being overwhelmed. We will have to watch Mursak (ex Bern) and Petersen, the two best scorers last season. With 62 and 61 points, they were the offensive engines of the team.

On the side of Genève-Servette, it is Nassim Jaafri who will defend the Geneva cage. The young 18-year-old goalkeeper will make his first professional start, with Robert Mayer (unsure for Saturday against Bern) and Antti Raanta (out this week) not being available. On the other hand, Sami Vatanen will return to the team for the occasion! Marc-Antoine Pouliot, Christophe Cavalleri, Mike Völlmin, Gauthier Descloux and Noah Rod are still unavailable.

These matches between Genève-Servette and Klagenfurt will be played this Wednesday at the Patinoire du Littoral (Neuchâtel) from 7:45 p.m. The meeting can be followed live and in full on MySports. Your tickets are available HERE!
