Lambert Santelli and Noel Giordano embarked on the 13th edition of the Atlas Quest, in Morocco, in two different races and each returned with a victory signed on Saturday October 5.

Balanin, and GR20 record holder, established the new reference time: 105 km in 16 hours and 47 minutes.

We are alone with ourselves on this race, he explains. For 50 kilometers I hardly saw anyone, there was no assistance, few supplies. I’m not used to training at these altitudes. After 3,000 meters, it felt strange.

For his part, Noel Giordano smashed the marathon record by crossing the finish line in 4h30. “I thought I was in Corsica, it was so technical, the stones are like back home. I had a little trouble with the altitude because I’m not used to running at 3,000”, he smiles.

There are adventures that mark forever, this one will be a milestone in the careers of the two new kings of the Atlas.
