Antoine Griezmann decided to advertise this French brand, which hides a secret message

Antoine Griezmann, new muse of a very French brand, may not himself know the meaning of his name…

Antoine Griezmann has not only announced his international retirement with the French football team, but also a major change in his equipment. Star of the Puma brand since 2010, the Frenchman decided to leave everything to join a very French brand that everyone knows, Kipsta, the Decathlon brand, according to information from Relevo.

From November 1, the Atlético de Madrid player will be linked to Decathlon and will wear Kipsta shoes during the matches he plays with Atletico Madrid. The French brand indeed wishes to establish itself in the professional environment. The aim is to “become the undisputed sports brand for every footballer”. And with Griezmann as ambassador, she seems to want to pull out all the stops on the marketing side.

This choice by Decathlon to focus on a footballer who has always embodied team spirit is not surprising. Because the Kipsta brand has a hidden meaning that you may not know. Indeed, the name of the French brand is divided into two parts with “Kip”, meaning team, and “Sta”, meaning stadium. It is therefore totally logical to see this brand take this turn with Antoine Griezmann as its muse.

But Decathlon’s strategy does not stop there, its development is growing and will take on a whole new dimension in the coming months. Already a partner of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, Kipsta has also signed a contract to be the official supplier of the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.

In any case, Decathlon seems to want to restore its brands by signing these contracts and getting closer to stars. In 2022, the brand had already dressed another figure in French sport, a showman par excellence, the “Monf”, aka Gaël Monfils, with the “Team Artengo”. “For me, it’s more than a partnership, it’s really about living it 100%, that’s what’s most important,” explained the Frenchman when signing his contract.

“What is certain is that it is a partnership not based solely on sponsorship (…) With Gaël, we want 100% collaboration with the team and in particular around the future look of our products “, explained the creator of the brand at the time. Will Griezmann, who has already invested in fashion or sneaker resale companies, be involved in the design of future Kipsa products? To be continued.
