It’s the legendary distance: the 100M! A race that takes trailers through the most beautiful trails of the Mercantour National Park and the hinterland. Between rocky landscapes and shady forests, before returning to views overlooking the Mediterranean, the spectacle is grandiose.

The start will be given from Auron on Friday at noon. The 100M will quickly reach the highest point of the course at more than 2,650 meters above sea level: the Rabuons and its unique mineral landscapes along the
energy path. After crossing chestnut forests and the meanders of the Tinée several times, the runners skirt the wonders of the Mercantour massif then progress on beautiful ridges halfway through at an altitude of more than 2,000 m.

To cross four mountains: Mont Leuze, Mont Vinaigrier, Mont Alban and Mont Boron.

Then descend until you arrive on the Promenade des Anglais!

Saturday at 9:15 a.m. the 1st finishers will be expected in Nice… As for the last ones, they will be on the Promenda des Anglais around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The maximum time allowed is 48h30. Last year, there were 37% dropouts in this 100M. Victory returned in 2023 to Gwendal Moysan.

Among the men, the favorite is 38 years old, it’s the Spaniard Cristofer Clemente Mora.

Ida-Sophie Hegemann will be back this weekend on the starting line in Auron and this time will challenge the 100M.

But the big favorite is Courtney Dauwalter. The 39-year-old American does not hide her pleasure at participating:”to explore 100 miles of new-to-us trails and see what’s left in the tank for the 2024 racing season. It’s a point-to-point course that starts in the mountains and ends at the sea… Really looking forward to go there! “

The three-time winner of the UTMB and ultra-trail legend had been seen at various points along the route around Mont Blanc disguised as a duck…

The question his fans are asking… What outfit this time to no longer be a simple spectator, that of the winner of the 100 M?
