. New edition of the international kata course

This weekend, in Pratgraussals, the 6th edition of the Judo Club international kata course will be held.

It has become a meeting place for French kata. This weekend, the Pratgraussals hall will host the international kata course of the Albi Judo Club, in partnership with the Albi town hall. This will be the 6th edition, and the best French people, among others, will be present for this event led by Stéphane Béga and Grégory Marques.

Many members of the French kata team met in Tarn. They will be there as speakers, including André Parent (trainer, national coach and world judge), as well as several pairs in the different katas, including the medalists during the last European and world outings of the national selection. There will also be many high-ranking officials from the Judo League.

This year, the course will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, then from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. During this course, it will be possible to discover and improve (personal progress, progression of grade and/or competition) on the following katas: Nage no kata, Kodokan goshin jitsu, Katame no kata, Kime no kata, Ju no kata , Koshiki no kata, Itsutsu no kata.

Expected interventions

During the weekend, there will be several highlights. On Friday evening, a mass training session will be open to everyone, from six to twelve years old, in order to attract as many young people as possible. On Saturday evening, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the national coach of the French kata team and senior official, André Parent, will give a talk on pure technique.

The next day, during the morning, judges will be made available to judokas wishing to have their performance observed and noted. Finally, the last hour of the course will be dedicated to technique or to a mondo, depending on the wishes of the participants.
