NHL: this former Quebec defender calls Tim Stützle “fake”

With his 700 games of experience in the National League, former defenseman Jason Demers served a warning to Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stützle.

The Quebecer thinks that the young man must stop asking for more than the customer asks for when he gets hit by a rival.

“If Tim Stützle continues, and I’ll be kind, to ‘exaggerate’ when he gets hit, he will quickly lose respect in the league and attract the ire of not only the players, but also the referees,” Demers said on his X account, Wednesday.

The 36-year-old man mentioned the matter in connection with the events which took place in Tuesday’s preparatory duel between the “” and the Montreal Canadiens.

Defender Arber Xhekaj came quickly to tackle Stützle in a dangerous manner, in the middle of the ice. At first glance it looked like a blow to the head, but the video replay showed that Xhekaj hit the German’s hands and he was hit by his own stick.

The popular 23-year-old fullback did not receive any reprimand from the Bettman circuit for his action.
