The Rouge et Noir begin the second phase of the championship by welcoming FC Schaffhausen to La Maladière. As part of the tenth day of the Dieci Challenge League championship, the Xamaxiens will have the opportunity to continue their good series at home. Undefeated since February and a match against Bellinzona, the Rouge et Noir have won three matches and conceded a draw at Maladière in this 2024-2025 season.
Uli Forte’s men saw their winning streak come to an end last Friday at the Stockholm Arena in Thun. Against the Oberlanders, Xamax delivered a courageous performance which could have allowed them to bring home a point. Despite this defeat, the Rouge et Noir remain on the lookout for the leader (FC Thun) by two small points. They share the second place with Étoile Carouge, opponent of Neuchâtel Xamax the following day.
This Friday’s opponent, FC Schaffhausen, was also defeated in the final championship round. The men of Ciriaco Sforza suffered the law of FC Wil in their lair of the FCS Arena with a score of two to zero. The Schaffhausois are struggling to find consistency since before that, they had overcome FC Aarau at Brügglifeld. The two teams met only two weeks ago, with Neuchâtel winning by a score of two to one. This meeting, however, started very badly since Uli Forte’s men conceded the opening goal after only two minutes of play by De Donno. Touati and Koro Kone managed to turn things around and give the Xamaxiens three points in the second half. A man in good form in Schaffhausen’s first championship game, Willy Vogt was already unable to take part in the first meeting between the two teams. Marc Giger and Gabriele De Donno have been Ciriaco Sforza’s main offensive assets in recent meetings.
For this meeting, Uli Forte will be able to count on the return from suspension of Fabio Saiz who was excluded at the very end of the match against FC Stade Nyonnais. The last confrontation at Maladière ended with a score of 2 to 1 for the Rouge et Noir last March with a goal from Simone Rapp and an autogoal.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The Esplanade will be open from 6:00 p.m., the stadium doors from 6:15 p.m. Entertainment, food trucks and drinks will be available. As a reminder, season ticket or match ticket holders can use lines 10 and 11 Onde Verte two hours before the match and up to two hours after the final whistle. Work is currently being carried out at the access points in sector C and sector A. Specific signage will require you to make a small detour to access the areas mentioned.
