It’s clear, I’ve always played Racing since I was little. But I approach it in the simplest way: it’s a match that we must win at home, at La Rabine. Certainly there will be friends across the way like Nolann Le Garrec but we will have to ignore it, the objective is the result.
A Mako Vunipola, is that inspiring for you, a left pillar like him?
Everyone here knows that he is a rugby legend, he is a big name and he is one of the best in his position in the history of rugby. Obviously, on a daily basis I draw inspiration from him, I ask him questions, it’s very motivating. The scrum has always been a boss, he gives me little advice, I also ask him for feedback on what he thinks of my scrums. There is also the game, with his experience and his activity… In short, he knows the game!
A first assessment after four matches?
We started the championship against Toulouse, we knew it was going to be very complicated. But we gained strength as the matches progressed. At the Stade Français we grabbed a point and we were close to winning, then there was the victory against Lyon. Even though we lost Toulon, there were good things. We left Toulon better than we were when we arrived. We learn quickly.
