The information is still confidential, but it is starting to spread in the Rouen metropolis… The 2025 Tour de France could pass through the city of Rouen in July 2025.
Will it be a starting city, a stopover city or will there be a time trial in the city of a hundred steeples? Suspense… But one thing is certain: the city’s hoteliers have already been contacted for the month of July. Information revealed by our colleagues from France Bleu Normandie, which was confirmed to us this Wednesday.
“There have already been reservations made, these are organizers who have approached us for one or two days, but we cannot yet give you the names, for confidentiality reasons.”, tells us Philippe Coudy, president of the union of hotel trades and industries in Seine-Maritime.
The hotel club and UMIH 76 met at the end of September to take stock of the start of the school year. During the meeting, around ten hotel managers mentioned having been approached by the Tour de France organizing committee, which would have requested availability between July 8 and 10. We therefore imagine that the peloton would arrive on the 8th from Amiens (Somme) and stop in Rouen, on these dates.
“I was actually approached by the Caravane du Tour, but they asked me for a very large parking lot, unfortunately I will not be able to accommodate them!”, regrets Julien Marchal Guéret, the associate director of the Dieppe – Best Western hotel in Rouen, member of the UMIH office in Seine-Maritime. With a smile, he still tells us that he had a major reservation for these two days, from a sponsor of the Tour de France.
In an optimistic scenario, three stages could cross the region, with Rouen as the first stop in Normandy, which would be the 5th.e stage of this Tour de France.
Then, according to our information, Caen would also be a stopover and probably Bayeux and Vire in Calvados.
According to the newspaper The Voice of the Norththe 4e stage could start from Amiens. The departure of the 112e edition will be given on Saturday July 5 from the European Metropolis of Lille. The next day, the runners will connect Lauwin-Planque (North) to Boulogne-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais), then on July 7, the race will take place between Valenciennes (North) and Dunkirk (North).
The rest of the Tour de France 2025 route will be revealed on October 29 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris during the traditional ceremony, a few months before the Grand Départ. On this date, we will officially know the towns crossed in Normandy.
A long-awaited return to the region, nine years after the Grand Départ in La Manche, and seven years after a short stint in Eure and Seine-Maritime.
