Aignan hosted Solomiac this weekend for the 2nd round of the Gers Cup. The locals won by 6 goals to 2.
This weekend, the “red and black” of the Aignan Sports Union won the Gers football cup (2nd round) with a 6-2 victory against Solomiac. After a good start to the match and despite a few errors, the Aignanais were surprised by a bad pass in the center of the field, allowing the visitors to open the scoring. But the locals reacted quickly, equalizing on a phase of play concluded by Souleymane Cissokho.
A few minutes later, in an action almost identical to the 1st goal, Souleymane Cissokho again deceives the opposing goalkeeper to bring the score to 2-1 after only 15 minutes of play. On a poor clearance from Solomiac, the ball falls to the feet from the same Souleymane Cissokho who, with a powerful strike from outside the area, scored his 3rd goal.
However, before half-time, a free kick poorly cleared by the locals saw the ball hit the arm of an Aignan player. The referee awards a penalty and Solomiac reduces the score (3-2).
At the break, Aignan returned to the locker room with a slight advantage.
A collective victory
After an autumnal deluge, the 2nd half resumed and the Aignan players quickly found their rhythm. Thanks to assists from Guillaume Dualé, Loic Duale and Nino Motos, Souleymane Cissokho continues to shine, scoring 3 new goals for a total of 6 goals in this match which ends with a score of 6-2.
It was a collective victory which underlines the offensive efficiency and determination of the winning team. Meet now at the Jean-Guillonneau stadium on Saturday October 5 for the meeting which will pit US Aignanaise II against Condom and for the one which will see US Aignanaise I and FC Saint-Girons face off.
