There is uncertainty regarding Canadiens goaltenders across the league

The situation of goalkeepers this year at CH has nothing to do with that of last year.

Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau will start the season in Montreal, and there will not be a third goalkeeper who will complicate things. #MénageÀTrois

On the other hand, we are talking about two goalkeepers who are not super experienced and that seems to scare some people.

I say that because this morning, on TSN 690, Darren Dreger revealed that “several of his colleagues” are uncertain about the Habs tandem.

Montembeault won the #1 position, Primeau has been solid since the start of camp… But that’s not enough in the eyes of some to say that the situation in front of the net is not a problem.

It’s interesting, though.

Is it that Monty and Primeau have things to prove?

Yes, and you have to give them time. The two goalkeepers have not necessarily had the chance until now to play in front of a solid club because in recent years, the Canadian has been rebuilding.

It’s difficult to judge a goalkeeper’s performance when the team in front of him isn’t capable of helping him, after all.

All in all, it is normal to see that there is uncertainty, but it is after the season that we will have more information about the situation in front of the net.

Let’s give Montembeault and Primeau the chance to showcase themselves with an improved club. And then we’ll be able to start worrying if we have to.

That said, I can’t wait to see if Primeau will overtake Monty for the #1 position, as we’ve been hearing frequently lately…
