Winnipeg Jets | Bryan Little signs one-day contract and retires

(Winnipeg) The Winnipeg Jets announced Friday that they will offer Bryan Little a one-day contract so that the center can retire in the uniform he wore for his entire career. the National Hockey League (NHL).

The Jets will honor Little on October 20 when the Pittsburgh Penguins visit.

Little was selected in the 12e pick of the 2006 draft by the Atlanta Thrashers, who eventually became the Jets. He played 843 games with the organization, totaling 521 points (217 goals, 304 assists) while receiving 293 penalty minutes.

He added four goals and eight assists in 27 playoff games, all before the team moved to Manitoba ahead of the 2011-12 season.

The 36-year-old played his last game on November 5, 2019, where he suffered a torn eardrum after taking a slapshot from teammate Nikolaj Ehlers to the ear. He needed 25 to 30 stitches to treat the cut.

The Jets traded Little’s contract to the Arizona Coyotes in March 2022. His rights belonged to the Salt Lake City, Utah club until July 1.
