The mechanical horse from the Olympic opening ceremony will soon be exhibited at the Palace of

“Zeus”, the mechanical horse that flew over the Seine on the evening of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, will be installed at the Palace of in October, after being exhibited in the courtyard of City Hall.

He had impressed spectators at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games on July 26. “Zeus”, the silver mechanical horse that “galloped” on the Seine, will be exhibited at the Palace of Versailles, as announced by Sanofi, the group that inherited it, during the champions’ parade on Saturday, September 14.

A tour of soon

For the time being, no information has been communicated concerning the precise dates, the location and the conditions of access to admire the work of the Atelier Blam. Contacted by BFMTV.com this Wednesday, September 18, the press service of the Palace of Versailles indicates that a communication should be made during the course of next week.

Until now, “Zeus” has been exhibited in the courtyard of the Paris City Hall. 35,000 places to admire the mechanical horse between August 19 and September 8 were sold out in just 6 hours.

After the Palace of Versailles, the mechanical horse will continue its journey for a tour of France. On this occasion, it will return to its native land in where it was designed by the architecture and design studio Atelier Blam.

“This floating mechanical horse, 1.80 metres high at the withers, took a year of work,” the workshop explained to AFP last July.

“It is equipped with a flotation system created specifically for the needs of the opening ceremony by naval architects from Quiberon. The mechanism transcribes as precisely as possible the movements of a horse galloping,” the designers specified.
