Three medals for France on September 7, paracycling continues to shine

CIt’s becoming a habit, the French paracycling team continues to shine, in the streets of Clichy-sous-Bois. Thomas Peyroton-Dartet and Alexandre Léauté won the silver and bronze medals respectively in the road race in the C1-3 category. The title went to the British Finlay Graham.

The reigning world champion, the latter assumed his status as favourite. But he had a lot to do against the two Frenchmen, who dynamited the race from the start. Very quickly, the three riders found themselves alone in the lead, ensuring a podium. Alexandre Léauté and Thomas Peyroton-Dartet tried to wear down their British adversary by multiplying attacks. But in vain, Finlay Graham hung on before beating Thomas Peyroton-Dartet in the sprint.

68 medals for France

Alexandre Léauté sacrificed himself in the final kilometers for his compatriot and won the bronze medal. With two titles and two bronze medals, the Breton is one of the most successful Frenchmen at these Paralympic Games. For his part, Thomas Peyroton-Dartet won his second medal this summer, after the title acquired in the time trial.
