Although they are still under investigation for aggravated gang rape, the two French players have been authorized by the Argentine justice system to return to their country.

The decision of judge Eleonora Arenas was expected this Tuesday. It has been made and it is favorable to the two French players according to the Argentine press.

Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou, although they remain under investigation for aggravated gang rape (their request for dismissal will be examined at the end of the week), are now officially free to leave Argentina.

Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou, who arrived in Buenos Aires a week ago after finally getting their passports back, could take a plane this evening to land in France on Wednesday morning.

“During today’s hearing at the Criminal Court, the departure of the two French citizens from the country was not discussed in this area, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office did not object to the decision of the Deputy Prosecutor for Criminal Cases, so the resolution is firm and they can leave the country from now on.”explained the Argentine justice system in its press release.

This green light given by the Argentinian public prosecutor’s office for this return to France is however “with rules”. Players must in particular “to present themselves if summoned to the Argentine consulate in France, to establish a real and virtual address”or even “to report to Mendoza (1,000 kilometers from Buenos Aires) if requested”.

Furthermore, no date has yet been set for an examination of the request for dismissal, but this could take place within a few days according to AFP.
