Valencia striker Rafa Mir arrested for sexual assault

According to information from the Spanish media Cadena SER, Valencia player Rafa Mir was arrested for sexual assault on the night of Monday, September 2 to Tuesday, September 3. The investigation reveals that the acts were allegedly committed at the player’s home, located in a city in the province of Valencia. The two alleged victims are two women aged 25 and 21. They filed a complaint and were hospitalized. Another man is also allegedly involved in this case and has been taken into custody.

Loaned by FC Seville to Valencia

Rafa Mir did not participate in Tuesday’s training with his team at Paterna Sport City and spent the night in custody. The 27-year-old forward is awaiting transfer to the judge for questioning.

Rafa Mir had just been loaned to Valencia this season by FC Seville. The Spanish international U21 (1 selection) was trained at the Valencia Academy from 2012 to 2016 before joining the A team and then playing for Wolverhampton, Las Palmas, Nottingham Forest, Huesca and Seville. The Valencia club has not reacted since Rafa Mir’s arrest.
