Meta will deploy the Verified paid subscription in Belgium

The parent company of Facebook and Instagram will introduce Meta Verified on the Belgian market in the coming weeks. This subscription is mainly intended for creators and influencers and includes a verification checkmark.

Meta Verified is designed to help users increase their online visibility and grow their community faster on the social media giant’s platforms. The central element of the subscription is the verification checkmark which confirms that you are who you say you are, and that your account is verified by means of a valid identity document. Optionally, you can also add a selfie video to reinforce the authenticity of your account.

Protection against copycats

At the same time, Verified subscribers benefit from better protection against imitation by ‘proactive account monitoring’. This feature is always on the lookout for bad guys who want to abuse the accounts or success of up-and-coming talent and fast-growing creators.

In the event of any problems with their account, Meta Verified subscribers have direct access to a team of experts at all times. Finally, they can count on some exclusive features such as stickers for Stories and Reels on Facebook and Instagram.

A subscription to Meta Verified costs 13.99 euros on Instagram or Facebook on the web, and 16.99 euros in apps for iOS and Android. The rollout will take place ‘in the next few weeks’ in Belgium, but Meta has not yet revealed a precise timing
