The American, world No. 1, won his seventh title of the season, finishing four shots ahead of his compatriot Collin Morikawa. The conclusion of a magnificent season.

American Scottie Scheffler, world number one, concluded a magnificent PGA season with a final title at the Tour Championship, the FedEx Cup final, on Sunday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta (Georgia).

With four shots under par in the fourth and final round, and due to the particular format of this tournament, based on the points won during the season, Scheffler finished four shots ahead of his compatriot Collin Morikawa and six ahead of another American, Sahith Theegala.

A $25 million reward

He thus won his seventh tournament of the season, equalling Tiger Woods’ single-year record in 2007, and at the same time won the $25 million FedEx Cup prize money.

In 2024, the golfer from Ridgewood, New Jersey (northeast), also won the Masters (for the second time after 2022) and the Olympic gold in Paris.

For the past two seasons, Scottie Scheffler has entered the Tour Championship, the final event of the FedEx Cup, in the lead, but has cracked in the final straight. “It’s true that arriving here for the third time in the lead and managing to win it has a special flavor,” he commented.

Frenchman Matthieu Pavon finished in 17th place with a final round of 67 (four under par), weighed down by a previous round that ended in par (71).
