Charlie Lindgren makes a sensational save

We were treated to 13 games yesterday in the National Hockey League, while 26 teams were in action across the four corners of the League.

Several highlights really caught the attention.

Here is an overall report.

1. Charlie Lindgren makes one of the saves of the year

The Washington Capitals are the best team in the NHL right now this season, with everything working for them across the board.

On offense, on defense, and especially in front of the net, everyone performs very well.

And in front of the net, if it’s not Logan Thompson who is putting in incredible performances, well, Charlie Lindgren is taking over very well as he demonstrated last night.

Indeed, Lindgren made quite an extremis save at the end of the match, while he went to the players’ bench for the benefit of a sixth skater.

Truly a sensational save worthy of one of the saves of the year, but which unfortunately did not allow the Capitals to win.

They lost 2 to 1 to the Vancouver Canucks.

2. Mikko Rantanen and Martin Necas both cleared in their debut

The two big names in the NHL who were traded for each other Friday night played their respective first games yesterday with their new team.

Here is Mikko Rantanen in his new colors, as the Carolina Hurricanes lost 3 to 2 against the New York Islanders.

Rantanen was shut out in his first game.

And here is Martin Necas in his new colors with the Colorado Avalanche, who lost 3 to 1 against the Boston Bruins.

Like Rantanen, Necas was cleared from the scoresheet.

3. Kirill Marchenko gives the Blue Jackets a crucial second point

The Columbus Blue Jackets are involved in the same crazy playoff race as the Montreal Canadiens, while every day the Eastern Conference gets tighter.

Each point is therefore essential, and last night, unlike CH, the Blue Jackets went for the second, crucial point in overtime.

It was Kirill Marchenko who gave Columbus the 3-2 victory with a superb climb.

It was the 20th of the season for Marchenko, who has 53 points in 50 games.

He is truly experiencing one of the best developments in the entire NHL.

4. Crazy match in Minnesota

It was brewing last night in the Calgary Flames’ 5-4 victory over the Minnesota Wild.

First, Marc-André Fleury joined a scrum close to his net.

And secondly, Rasmus Andersson added to his list of fans he stares at after scoring a goal, while last night, after his 7th goal of the season, he took the time to stare at a Minnesota Wild fan .

In short, a match with a lot of tension, which resulted in another important victory for the Calgary Flames.

5. Cam Talbot’s big shutout against the Lightning

After winning against the Canadiens on Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings are back in the playoff race, and last night, they added to it with a solid 2-0 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Cam Talbot played a big role in this victory, as he stopped all 28 shots aimed at him, including several big ones at the very end of the match.
