This vigilance concerns two rivers in the south of the Breton department: the Vilaine Médien and the Caute.
Météo France has placed the department of Ille-et-Vilaine on red vigilance for flood phenomena, in its bulletin on Monday, January 27 dated 6 hours on the sidelines of the passage of storm Herminia.
Two rivers are affected by this transition to red: the villain median and the cuttlefish. This vigilance is also in force for the day on Tuesday January 28.
In addition, eight other departments of Metropolitan France are placed in orange alert for various phenomena: Eure, Calvados, Orne, Mayenne and Maine-et-Loire for floods, Finistère and Morbihan for waves-submersion From 1 p.m., and the Hautes-Alpes for avalanches from 10 a.m.
Broken records
If the water level seems to descend to Rennes, this is not the case in Guipry, a commune further south of the department, where the levels of 1995 and 2001 were beaten. The 2001 record, the water then rose to 3m58, could also fall.
-This weekend, the important precipitation generated by Herminia in Brittany were behind floods “that has not been known for forty years” in the Rennes agglomeration.
Many overflows have been observed in Ille-et-Vilaine. “We have a first peak that occurred (Saturday) at the end of the day” and which was followed by an lull during the night from Saturday to Sunday, detailed Jean-Christophe-Boursin Secretary General on Sunday for the Regional affairs with the prefect of the Brittany region.
