A 46-year-old Floridian was arrested Friday evening after threatening US President Donald Trump on social media, West Palm Beach police reported.

Shannon Depararro Atkins was stopped by police during a traffic stop near his home in West Palm Beach, the West Palm Beach Police Department said in a publication on X.
The 46-year-old man, originally from Okeechobee, allegedly shared several death threats against Donald Trump on his Facebook account.
The FBI notified the West Palm Beach Police Department of Shannon Depararro Atkins’ threats on January 20.
-The suspect allegedly admitted to investigators that he was the author of the threats against the President of the United States, but that “they were jokes,” ABC News reported.
During his arrest, authorities also found cocaine on the suspect.
Shannon Depararro Atkins is charged with making threats to kill and possession of cocaine, the West Palm Beach Police Department said.
West Palm police said they notified the U.S. Secret Service of Mr. Atkins’ arrest.
